Dear 2014

Hello everyone!
Last night I was sitting up at 2am, scrolling aimlessly through Pinterest -as I so often do- and I came across this post:
(the link was broken so I'm not sure of the source.)

I've sort of been in a rut as to what my New Year goals should be, and I thought it'd be a great way for me to pick some! I'll just fill in the blanks!
Here we go:

A bad habit I'm going to break: I have this habit of saying I'm going to writewritewrite all the time. I hardly ever do. So I'd like to say it and actually do it.

A new skill I'd like to learn: How to develop film. It's something I've always wanted to do, and I hope I get to try it this year!

A person I'd like to be more like: I don't think I really want to be someone else, but rather find myself- which might sound cheesy, but oh well! I do really look up to Demi Lovato though, and I'd love to inspire someone like she inspires me someday!

A good deed I'm going to do: I try to help people out whenever I can, so I do volunteer, but not as much as I'd like! So I'd love to volunteer more, or just help people out if they're struggling with anything at all.

A place I'd like to visit: I've always wanted to travel, the whole world. But I don't think I've saved quite enough for the whole world yet, so in 2014 I'd at least like to go to Florida. That's where one of my best friends in the entire world lives and I need SO badly to go see her.
I'd also love if I could get to see my other best friends around the country this year! I also have friends abroad but I'd have to save up SO much for that. I will though.

A book I'd like to read: Oh my, I'd just like to read more in general. I lovelovelove reading, but I haven't been able to do much of it this year. It'd also be pretty shanzzy to maybe read my own book all nice and published ;)

A letter I'm going to write: I think in 2014 I might write a letter to my future self. One of those ones you keep for 10 years before you open it back up. I'd also like to write more letters to people in general.
I know I love getting snail mail!

A new food I'd like to try: Hmm, I don't really know! Maybe just something in my(hopeful)travels!

I'm going to do better at: This is another I'm not really sure of, because I'd kind of like to be better at everything. I feel that I always have room for improvement. I'd definitely like to be better at talking. I've never really been good at saying what I'm feeling, so I could definitely improve on that!
(lost the link for this one, but found it on pinterest!)

Well, there that is. I'd love to see anyone else do this, I doubt many people are reading this right now, but if you are, it was actually pretty fun!
I hope you all have an amazing and happy new year!

DIY Card stock Journal

Hello!
If you're anything like me, you have a complete obsession with notebooks/journals/diaries.
I love them all! I really do.
Ever since I was little(er) I've been obsessed with finding new was to make my own, and decorating them is pretty fun too do as well!
This is just one way I like doing them, I'll probably show you all more ways to make them in the future. :)

So, here is what you need:

~1 piece Cardstock/Paperstock, paper of choice (for the pages), a needle (larger is better), embroidery thread or yarn. Stamps and ink to decorate(optional)~

 Step one:

Fold your cardstock piece and pages in half.
I'm using 8.5 x 11 in size, but you can use whatever you prefer!
If you don't want your pages to stick out, I recommend cutting off just a tiny bit of the edges.

Step two:

Put pages inside of cardstock, and make sure everything is lined up evenly.

Step 3:

Thread your needle like so.
I used about 6 inches of thread.
Don't tie a knot in the end, but leave a small tail.

Step 4:
Poke two holes, about an inch and a half to two inches apart.
(If your needle won't poke through, you can use a tack or an awl if you have one!)
Loop your needle and thread through as pictured above, leaving a tail at both sides and pulling tight (like the third photo).

Step 5:
Tie a knot nice and tight to keep it from coming undone, and then clip off the edges.
Once you've done that it should look something like those^!

Step 6:
Once you're done you can stamp/decorate to your hearts desire!
These are a couple of my favorite stamps hehe :)

Well, I hope you guys enjoy this, and/or try it out!
They're really simple, and not hard at all:)
