Snow White

"Make a wish into the well, that's all you have to do, and if you hear it echoing, your wish will soon come true."

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season! 2014 went by extremely quickly. If I didn't know it was January, and you asked me a few days ago how long was left to the year, I probably would've guessed a few months. Anyway, good luck to you all in the new year!

Recently my blog had it's 1st birthday! Maybe I'll do a contest and or giveaway for this occasion? I'm still trying to decide on what it would be, but it's very likely to happen.

Seen above is a photo I took of my lovely little sister (as most of my photos are) with my new lens!!! I am in love with it. Very in love. I'm thinking of uploading more photography in the upcoming months if you guys are interested in that:)

Stay minty,

100 Journal Ideas

100 ideas (for use with a journal)

Heeelllo everybody!
Awhile ago I was on Keri Smith's website. You might know her as the author of the Wreck This Journal series. Lots of other amazing books as well! Anyway, while I was browsing I came across her
100 Ideas (for use with a journal) post... thingy!

It really inspired me to start journaling again, because I'm horrible at keeping up with journals, diaries, etc. I always want to- I've had them off and on since I was just a little kid!

But this post has these really amazing ideas for you to use, a few of my favorites being:

Write a letter to yourself in the future.

List all of the places you've ever lived. (That's a LOAD for me)

Create a character based on someone you know. Write a list of personality traits.

List the smells in your neighborhood.

Put a small object in your left pocket (or in a bag), put your left hand in the pocket. Draw it by feel.

Illustrate the concept of 'simplicity'

I just love the ideas soooo much- I just had to share! You can view the whole list here
I think that I might share some pages(i.e when I draw things) I do if I find any of them to come out interestingly enough, or just need a post idea, haha.

So what do you guys think of the list, are you gonna try it out with me?
It'd be cool if someone else joined me!

P.S. You can pin my pictures now! Just roll over and click the pin button:)
P.P.S Thanks Anna!

Well, until next time,

Stay minty,
-Juli

Dear Sky

Do you ever just look up at the sky and wonder how it never ceases to be?
It changes everyday, every minute, every hour.
There are not two of the same sky in any way.
But even through it's changes, it always stays the same.
It always holds the sun for us to soak up,
It always holds the moon for us to gaze to,
It always holds the stars for us to wish upon,
It always holds the clouds for us to imagine on.
It's always there for us.
To shout to in anger or in delight.
To cry in joy or sadness.
To sing to.
To love.
I feel like we should all thank the sky for being there in our times of need,
whether we notice it there or not.
I feel like we should all thank the sky, for never ceasing to be.

Dear 2014

Hello everyone!
Last night I was sitting up at 2am, scrolling aimlessly through Pinterest -as I so often do- and I came across this post:
(the link was broken so I'm not sure of the source.)

I've sort of been in a rut as to what my New Year goals should be, and I thought it'd be a great way for me to pick some! I'll just fill in the blanks!
Here we go:

A bad habit I'm going to break: I have this habit of saying I'm going to writewritewrite all the time. I hardly ever do. So I'd like to say it and actually do it.

A new skill I'd like to learn: How to develop film. It's something I've always wanted to do, and I hope I get to try it this year!

A person I'd like to be more like: I don't think I really want to be someone else, but rather find myself- which might sound cheesy, but oh well! I do really look up to Demi Lovato though, and I'd love to inspire someone like she inspires me someday!

A good deed I'm going to do: I try to help people out whenever I can, so I do volunteer, but not as much as I'd like! So I'd love to volunteer more, or just help people out if they're struggling with anything at all.

A place I'd like to visit: I've always wanted to travel, the whole world. But I don't think I've saved quite enough for the whole world yet, so in 2014 I'd at least like to go to Florida. That's where one of my best friends in the entire world lives and I need SO badly to go see her.
I'd also love if I could get to see my other best friends around the country this year! I also have friends abroad but I'd have to save up SO much for that. I will though.

A book I'd like to read: Oh my, I'd just like to read more in general. I lovelovelove reading, but I haven't been able to do much of it this year. It'd also be pretty shanzzy to maybe read my own book all nice and published ;)

A letter I'm going to write: I think in 2014 I might write a letter to my future self. One of those ones you keep for 10 years before you open it back up. I'd also like to write more letters to people in general.
I know I love getting snail mail!

A new food I'd like to try: Hmm, I don't really know! Maybe just something in my(hopeful)travels!

I'm going to do better at: This is another I'm not really sure of, because I'd kind of like to be better at everything. I feel that I always have room for improvement. I'd definitely like to be better at talking. I've never really been good at saying what I'm feeling, so I could definitely improve on that!
(lost the link for this one, but found it on pinterest!)

Well, there that is. I'd love to see anyone else do this, I doubt many people are reading this right now, but if you are, it was actually pretty fun!
I hope you all have an amazing and happy new year!
